The Challenge

A St. Pete corner lot needed a fence that simultaneously satisfied the residential pool barrier statute (48-inch minimum, self-closing gates) and the corner-lot height limit (36 inches inside the visibility triangle) — two rules that collide exactly at the street corner.

02

Our Solution

We routed the pool barrier line to stay entirely outside the visibility triangle, stepping the fence height from 6 ft to 4 ft along the secondary frontage, marked both self-closing gate locations swinging outward from the pool, and printed both code references on the sheet.

03

The Result

Approved first-pass with the barrier inspection passing on the same routing shown on the plan.

Pool code said tall, corner code said short. Their routing satisfied both without a variance, which the counter told me almost never happens.
