Wake County environmental health required a site plan for a failing septic replacement showing the existing tank and field, the proposed repair area, the well with its 100-ft radius, and every structure, driveway, and property line — on a lot where no drawings had existed since 1974.
We rebuilt the lot from the recorded deed and GIS, located the well and drew its 100-ft setback circle, mapped the existing drainfield from the original 1974 permit card we retrieved from county archives, and hatched the proposed repair area clear of all setbacks.
Environmental health accepted the plan and scheduled the soil evaluation without requesting changes — saving the family weeks without a working system.
