A dual-purpose plan: ADU permit checklist for San Jose on one layer, crane outriggers, swing radius, and powerline clearances on the other.
A prefab ADU manufacturer needed placement plans that do double duty: satisfy San Jose's ADU checklist and prove to the crane company that a 400 SF unit could be set over the house from the street.
We drew the foundation location with 4-ft setbacks and utility stub positions for the city, then added a crane exhibit layer: outrigger pad positions in the street, the swing radius over the roof ridge with height callout, and overhead line clearances from the utility pole plotted on the plan.
City approval first-pass and the crane set completed in 4 hours — the company adopted our dual-layer format for all installs.
One drawing for the city, the crane operator, and the customer. Our set days went from chaos to choreography.
Permit-ready plans delivered in 12–24 hours.
